The ALEien Monks have left the monastery and are ready for Summer Vacation!

Monk Melee: Summer Vacation Edition is a brand new BJCP/AHA - sanctioned homebrew competition brought to you by ALEiens homebrew club!

Just like the classic Monk Melee, this competition will focus on specific BJCP categories.

Unlike the classic, those categories will change every year based on the Monk’s travels!

For 2026, the Monks have decided to soak up the sun with the theme of:

“Beers of Summer”

12B Australian Sparkling Ale

18A Blonde Ale

18B American Pale Ale

23A Berliner Weisse

23G Gose

24A Witbier

25B Saison (table strength)

X4 Catharina Sour

X5 New Zealand Pilsner

Specialty Categories (Conditionally allowed):

Requirement: The declared base style must be one of the approved Beers of Summer categories.

30B Mixed-Style Beer
