"Chris, I had the same issue last year. I also make wine and I had like 15 cases of wine bottles. I put something on craigslist saying that the bottles were on the curb. With in an hour, someone drove by and picked them up."

cleaning  out  my  basement and  I  have   about 16 cases  of  bottles, mostly 12 oz, some 22.5 (franziskaner) some  returnable rolling  rock,  a case  of  16 oz returnable, some  nice  heavy  champagne  bottles  too. a  mixed  bag,  some  with  labels  some  with  labels  removed.  I  will put  these  up on freecycle on 2/13/2011  but wanted  to  offer  them  here  first. See More

"I mash in my 11 gallon SS boil kettle, then transfer that to a rectangular cooler with a bazooka screen. I mash in the kettle so I can do multiple temperature rests (if needed) and a mashout. Then preheat the cooler with a gallon of boiling water so…"

"That makes sense to me! I'm using a Coleman "cube" cooler, which gives a pretty good width/height ratio, but the rectangular ones are probably even better."

"Keep me posted how that setup works for you. I'm thinking about making a 60qt into a tun and then getting one of the round coolers for a HLT. First step is buying a bigger kettle, prferably w/ a ball valve and sight guage."
