I'm about to join the Homebrew ranks, and English Brown Ale was suggested as a good kit to start with, since I like darker beers. Looking at the kit instructions, they say to ferment "ideally" at 52 - 58 degrees, for about 20 days. Alternately, one can ferment at 66 to 72 degrees for a shorter time of 7 - 10 days. So if the basement is somewhere between, it seems the time will be between these two options. Does this affect the final product to a great degree? I would think not, but???? Shou…
