Iron Brewer IV

ALEiens Only Competition

Starts August 27, 2013

16 Teams - Three Rounds - One winner!

$10 Entry per team

IRON BREWER 2014 WINNER

MIKE GRIPPI

Iron Brewer is our in-house, ALEiens only competition.  Your chance to show off, secure some prizes, and (most importantly) gain bragging rights as one of the best brewers in the Club!  Since we have dues this year, we dropped the entry fee to $10.  100% of the entry fee goes towards prizes, along with yearly dues meeting we will use to pick up some swanky prizes for First, Second, and Third prize!

This can be a team competition, giving you the opportunity to pair up with one or more of your fellow ALEiens, if you want to.  Single person teams are allowed.  We are looking for at least 16 teams, and a bracket system will be used as you advance through each round of the competition.

Round 1 - Pick 8/27, Due 10/29

Belgians - Tripel (18c), Dubbel (18b), & Blond (18a)

The style to be brewed by each team will be drawn at random at the August 27 meeting.  Brew your beer to the BJCP style and enter it into the Monk Melee too!

Four 12 ounce bottles must be submitted.

Round 1 entries will be judged by the club at the October 29 meeting.

Round 2 - Pick 10/29, Due 1/28

Style TEA (no pure herbal, can be a blend) & COFFEE (no stout or porter)

This is true "Iron Brewer" where you get to brew the best beer you can think up with either TEA or COFFEE!

Four 12 ounce bottles must be submitted.

Round 2 beers will be judged by the club at the January 28 meeting.

Round 3 - Pick 1/28, Due 4/21ish

Style: El Dorado Hops, Cali Yeast, & Kumquats!

Six 12 ounce bottles are needed for the Finals, mid March (just after St. Pat's Day).

Round 3 beers will be judged by a panel of Judges and then sampled by the Club.  Prizes will be award at the April 28 meeting.

I'll assign you a kumquat wheat w/ Brett. Oh... The regular styles. Fine. We'll have a bystander pick for you if that's okay.
