If there are 12 taps, we need handles.  I can get 12 handles from weyerbacher (our old ones), if someone can build a cover for them.  Thinking thick print outs of the aleien, glue to each side of handle (they are flat on 2 sides), then we can have a white board with what is on tap, with a number next to it, then number the taps.  Or something like that to cover the taps.  They are about a foot and a half tall, 2 inches wide, 1 inch deep.

We can tweek any idea. Beer lable description should inclube specific info on Name of Beer/ Style/Brewer/ABV/awards won/Special grains like some of the pros. We could have a special catagory for listing  Flag ship/  awarded beers/ something unusually ? Listings are tweekable.

I also think it would be nice if the name of the person who brewed the beer be on it...if they want.

I like your idea of how to label but unless the beer is 'unusual' (our 'ALEien Ale) shouldn't just a name and style be sufficient?  Afterall, we are serving to homebrewers who, at least, have an idea what each style is.

Draft System Beer List Idea

To avoid confusion while serving our club's tasty brew a system needs to be in place.  A list of brews numbered with description to match the coresponding numbered tap. We can print out description & numbers on paper. then laminate the sheet as required (A.R.). Then cut them & hot glue magnets to the back side. Could be 50 different brews so you need 100 #s 1 thru 50 (two sets). Two small mags for description & one for number & attach other to the tap. This will keep serving organized. When Keg is empty can remove it from the list. A metal mounting steel plate would be a perfect bill board for ALEien Brews.  What size font for description & # strips & how large should the  bill board plate be ?  ........................................................................................................  Just an Idea.

Another idea:

For the future draft system, any chance having a glass or see through draft system where you see the beer from keg to mug but not really see the tubing.  That might be too much but I think that would be pretty cool.

The Great Head Banner:

Depending on the ability of the artist and how much time he wants to spend my idea would be a scene of Hulme and his friends doing homebrew.  All the elements would be there; past brews that are now ready to drink, the mill, the mash tun, the lauter tun, kettle, hop addition, etc.  I will admit it's alot to ask but to me, that would be an eye catcher.  And of course their efforts are free for the tasting.

Ya Mike, Great Head Banner Idea!  Jim painted our club Aleien. So your idea would work.   Fellow  Aleiens  We could get more  ideas before the paint hits the canvas. We got an Artist ( Jim The Brush )  so send us your ideas on the Aleiens Photo Wall. Cheers

Thats awesome Bill! I guess we need more input from the members but my first thought would be to have a lifesize cutout of our ALEien and maybe a colonial figure without a face.. which the person could put their head into.

Above it we can put our name nice and big "ALEIENS INVADE PHILLY NHC"

I actually built A photo wall for a Junior High Graduation and my brother Jim Painted the theme. It measured 6 foot high, 4 foot long, 2 foot deep on the sides with a floor. I used plywood, 2x3 studs for the sides/front  and 2x4 for the floor. The photo wall was bolted together via carriage bolts, flat & lock washers & deck screws. It Had 2 cutouts for face inputs. Jim (THE BRUSH) painted the Candy Land Theme. A castle with towers with chocolate hershey kiss tops ,chocolate draw bridge, cotton candy clouds, candy cane n lollipop trees, with a landscaped background with gingerbread people.(I'm sure he will do the ALEiens Justice) The build was safe N portable and the theme painting was oustanding. I just spoke with the" Brush". He will need a sketch of what we need for Club Nite. We are Lucky to have his talent availabe for the ALEiens. C U @ DA Meeting! Gonna Bring some of Jims Work! Oh I can constuct the booth, would wanna go over final draft and materials for the build, before starting. Incorperating the elements is key to design.......................

I am sadly no good with saws or manufacturing much of anything but healthy poops but did have an idea to get a nice tree trunk and drill a hole into it to run hoses in, throw a tap handle on the other side to dispense maple homebrew from.. "IF" we even brew that beer. But I'd help make that just don't have the tools...

If we do past present future we could do

Trees for past

Metal Kegarators for present

(No Idea) for future..

Wish we could get that company that makes those fill from bottom fillers to set up cause thats actually a future draft system.. haha.

Maybe something from our Aleien... or something in dry ice so it at least looks like the future.. lol

Keeping in theme with the past/present/future idea, what do you think would work best for our draft system cover.  Anyone interested in helping build a cover for our draft system?  Maybe out of wood/plastic, not sure.

I mentioned this under booth ideas.. but if we did go with a maple beer.. I think pouring via a maple log would be a nice touch.

I'd say we need two taps for the maple or whatever beer we choose to be our flagship brew.. this will be the beer we brew with Jeremy and the one we have the most quantity of. If its gonna be our big attraction, might as well have it on two lines.

I guess the remaining lines will be determined by how many beers we want to pour. I'd say at a minimum a beer should have two corny kegs for us to make it worth while to bring to club night
