ALEiens Homebrew Club

Spreading the Joys of Home Brewing Throughout Philadelphia and the Universe!

Calling all Home Brewers! Preston & Steve, along with Triumph Brewery, are looking for a great home-brewed Ale!  (No cheating now...)  All we need to know is the type of Ale you make, the IBU, malt, hops, and a few other things about you and your beer - so stop drooling and shoot an email to Homebrew@triumphbrew.com

You beat me to the punch. Thanks for posting!
GADZOOKS!!!!!
I might be able to bump a Belgian to put something else into this competition..  Would need to brew it soon though, in order to have it ready in time.
I just emailed them a recipe for an American Pale Ale w/rye.  Im lazy, its the one we are entering for the Iron Brewer comp.
I entered the recipe for my Honey Blonde Ale. Figured it wasn't extreme, but that may be a flaw.
Does anyone know when they select the winners to move into the next round with this? I go to the site and the page seems to be down.

Ah, I just found a link through Google Cache. The rules state this.

Finalists will be selected at the sole discretion of the Triumph Brewery judges based on the entry information and will be notified by email and/or phone beginning on or about April 26, 2011 and no later than April 29, 2011.

I guess I didn't make it. Did anyone else?

they are not done appearently...homebrew talk

Ill be there after work today for the tapping, see how far they are.

Damn. If I get picked I will have to take off work to brew to get it in on time. Hopefully it is soon.
I heard there were 300 entries and they are letting them all in and not selecting the 25 as originally stated.  This was not from the most reliable source, so don't bet any money on it.
I talked withthe brewer last thursday, he said that is the direction they are looking at going... which i preferred the original idea.

Well I guess if you want to enter, you need to already have the beer or do it now. I don't have the beer I entered made. If 300 people enter with no real guidance to styles, how do they plan to judge the beers now. with 25, you may be able to pick the best one. With 300, there is no real way to compare. It was never about the BJCP or Styles, so do they change that rule now?

I gracefully withdraw my entry. Sorry Preston and Steve and Triumph, this contest is a mess.
