If you think you can make a beer that tastes like ours, here's your chance to prove it. We're returning to our homebrewing roots and launching our first-ever homebrewing competition - The Karma Factor - in partnership with our friends at the City Tap House and the Hulmeville Inn.
Homebrewers can choose from any of our 8 year-round beers (Philly Pale, IPA, ESA, Brawler, Love Stout, Poor Richard's Spruce, General Washington Porter or Thomas Jefferson Tavern Ale) and craft their batch as close to the original as possible.
There'll be two independent rounds of tastings: one at Hulmeville on February 5th and the other at City Tap House on February 12th. We'll pick one winner at each event who will advance to the final round at Yards on March 12th. (Don't drink all your efforts in between.)
We'll have judges from Yards, City Tap House, and Hulmeville at each event, and there'll be prizes including cash, swag, beer and gift certificates. The Karma Factor winner will get to create a collaborative beer with Tom Kehoe and the Yards Brewing team on our original 3.5 bbl system for release at this year's Philly Beer Week Opening Tap Celebration.
Click here for the full details. (Prizes, dates, specifics, etc.) But if you're just stoked by the opportunity and ready to get brewing, email firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
You must include your name, your chosen venue and the beer you're attempting to clone.
$5 entry fee per team is due at tasting.
