Don't FORGET the BEER Exchange!

Comment by Andrew Kling on December 5, 2011 at 4:32am

I don't know the exact details, so I didn't want to fully post them, just wanted to do basically a save the date for the meeting.

I believe for the beer exchange though its, Bring a six pack of good beer, either home made or quality bought beer. And if you bring the larger beers, 2 small beers equals 1 large beer or something to that effect.

ALEiens: Wort’s Hoppening Newsletter, HOLIDAY EDITION

It’s the time of year where we all come together and celebrate the holidays, friendship, and of course home brewed beer. Yum!

What better way to celebrate than with your fellow ALEiens. Our December 27th meeting is next Tuesday at 7:30pm and it will be a party!

HOLIDAY BEER EXCHANGE

The party will be featuring our Holiday Beer Exchange. Last year we had an awesome turnout for this, again!  For all of you first timers, this is how it goes down.

  • If you want to participate, bring in a 6 pack of your best home brew. 12oz and 16oz bottles count as 1, 22oz and 750ml count as
    2. If you do not have any home brew ready for this, you can bring in a commercial craft beer.
  • We will have a designated table to drop the beer off when you come upstairs. When you drop your beer off, you will receive a
random number that you pick out of a hat.
  • Once we are organized and all beer has been added to the table, we will begin calling numbers. When your number is called, come
up to the table and pick up 2 beers (1 if it is a big bottle). We will have 3
rounds total and the goal is to come home with a 6 pack of different beers. Keep
your 6 pack holders so you have something to carry the beer home in.
  • Please try and arrive early to this meeting as we plan on starting the meeting at 7:30 promptly.  There will be event announcements like always, then we will start calling numbers!

HOLIDAY BEER TRIVIA

During the party, the 2011 & 2010 Philly Beer Geeks will be hosting Holiday Beer Trivia.  This is held throughout the night as everyone is socializing and gives us all a chance to win a few prizes.

GIFT IDEAS FOR THE BEER GEEK IN US ALL

You should probably just copy these links and send them to your significant other or parent (Papa DeChico, are you listening?!) as a hint for what you would like for the holidays.... ;)

THANK YOU to all who have come out to our meetings this year, helped out at Monk Melee and other ALEiens' events.  We appreciate all your help.  If you want to become more involved in the club, we are looking for volunteers to help orgainze and plan meetings come 2012.  There will be sign up sheets at the Holiday meeting.

Have a great holiday, we will see you on 12/27.  If not, have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
